The Lakes

There are seven lakes on the Lower Mill Estate and two rivers, one being the infant Thames. The well known Thames Path runs past Mill Lake and you can pick it up in either direction, to go back to the source of the Thames or follow it down stream.

Mill Lake is opposite the cottage and from there you are able to picnic, fish or swim. There is also a little beach area on the far side for those who’d like to paddle, or a pontoon for the more serious swimmers.

Somerford Lagoon is the largest lake on the Estate at 1km in length, and on this lake you can kayak, paddle board and swim.

Spinney Lake is available all year round for water activities and it’s a great beginner’s lake as it’s one of the smallest and where water sport lessons are held.
